The second day of the Summit of the National Assizes of Sports https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15894-haiti-politic-opening-of-the-summit-of-the-national-assizes-of-sports.html was marked by the validation by all the delegates of the national sports policy document. After more than a day of suggestions and proposals on strategic directions, the various sector stakeholders have adopted the national sports policy under their appreciation during these Assizes initiated in June 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14688-haiti-politic-towards-of-national-assizes-of-sports.html

The Assembly of Delegates reacted, among others on the following strategic guidelines:

• Harmonization and improvement of the effectiveness of interventions of actors ;

• Strategic Direction 2: Development and implementation of an adequate legal and institutional framework ;

• Human Resources Development ;

• Promotion and construction of sports infrastructures of excellence and of proximity; accessible to all ;

• School sports and academic development ;

• Promoting sport for all and sport for vulnerable groups ;

• Strengthening the sports movement response capacity ;

• Promoting economic development through sport ;

• Sports Funding ;

• Establishment of the National Sports Council.

The second day ended with the presentation of the draft law on sport by Mr. Ronald Auguste, the coordinator of the Legal Unit of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, which allowed delegates to be informed on the contents of this draft. The Assembly of Delegates will

intervene diuring workshops on this preliminary draft law called to provide the sector with an indispensable legal framework for its development.

This Saturday into workshops, will be discussed among other of : national system of haitian sport, sport development plans and programs for social protection of sportsmen and interveners in sports, national sports equipment, financing of sport in Haiti and of disciplinary regime of the themes that will be the subject of specific laws to compose the Haitian sports legislation, before a plenary of sharing restitution and general considerations.
