Haiti - Environment : New avenues for cooperation with Germany

Friday at the German Embassy in Petion-ville, a delegation of the Ministry of the Environment, led by Minister Pierre Simon Georges met, the German Ambassador to Haiti Manfred Auster.
This courtesy visit by the Minister of the Environment aimed to follow up on the various projects related to the environmental sector that are funded by the German Cooperation in Haiti and to give an update on Haiti's participation in the 23rd Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP23) held in Bonn, Germany https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22745-haiti-cop23-statement-by-the-minister-of-the-environment.html
While exploring new avenues of cooperation for the protection of the environment between the two countries, this meeting was also an opportunity to initiate a dialogue on certain environmental problems, such as the use and recycling of plastic products and the intensification of the application of the decree prohibiting the importation, marketing and use in any form of polyethylene and expanded polystyrene (EPS or PS crystal or styrofoam) products https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8995-haiti-notice-ban-on-plastic-bags-and-styrofoam.html
Remaining open to the continuation of this dialogue, Ambassador Manfred Auster expressed the will of his country to continue to be alongside the Ministry of the Environment in the implementation of the Government's roadmap in this sector.
