Haiti - Politic : The civil servants will have to pick up their pay check personally 21/03/2018 10:17:00
As part of the fight against corruption and fraud, starting this March, the salaries of all civil servants across the country will be paid only by checks and bank transfers on the accounts of the servants, check they will have to pick up in person at the offices of the respective departmental directorates.
This measure follows from a decision taken in the Council of Ministers last February 28 followed by a letter in March from Prime Minister Lafontant to the Minister of Finance, which states "[...] This measure is part of the fight against corruption and efforts to recover wages unduly received by agents who do not provide any service to the administration."
The Prime Minister states in his letter that this is a precautionary measure that must be applied until the end of the current fiscal year (September 2018).
