Haiti - Diplomacy : Canada concerned about civil unrest in Haiti 29/11/2018 08:35:23
Following the turmoil in Haiti and the socio-political instability, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland and International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau expressed Canada's concern :
"Canada is very concerned about the recent civil unrest in Haiti and is deeply saddened by the loss of life. We wish to express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and injured Haitians.
While peaceful protests are part of a healthy democracy, politically motivated acts of violence have no place in the democratic process. We call on all parties to work toward finding a solution.
Canada is a long-standing partner of Haiti.
