Literacy : USAID with the Ministry In 2018, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) revised the Ministry of Education's early grade literacy curriculum and distributed 124,941 reading and writing books in French and Creole to 41,647 first grade students. Social organizations call for the resignation of the Government Some 20 Haitian social organizations are calling for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse and his Prime Minister. These organizations propose to put in the place of the Head of State a judge of the Court of Cassation and to install a Council of State of 11 members (1 representative per department plus 1 for the diaspora) having the mission to organize the Sovereign National Conference to culminate in a Constituent Assembly for a new Constitution.
