Haiti - Politic : The Government takes measures to improve the distribution of electricity
Eddy Jackson Alexis, the Secretary of State for Communication informs that the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Public Works, on the basis of the recommendations of the Steering Committee of the Energy Sector Reform and in the framework of the will of the Government to improve the conditions of distribution of electricity to the population, jointly corresponded to the firms Haytrac, E-Power SA and Sogener with the aim of optimizing the electricity supply for the benefit of the Nation.

In the letter to Haytrac it is written "The Ministry of Public Works ordered the General Directorate of the Ed'H to take, upon receipt of this, the control of the sites of Les Cayes and Petit-Goâve https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-28378-icihaiti-petit-goave-after-15-days-of-blackout-the-opposition-closes-the-edh-office.html hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28311-haiti-grand-goave-blackout-a-generator-of-edh-confiscated-by-the-population.html . It is understood that the equipment and accessories of the two plants will be used by the EdH for a period of six months. After this time, all materials will be given back indistinctly.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy and Finance will try to meet you in order to negotiate the terms of payment of debts of Ed'H to your company."

Letter to E-Power SA states "The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (TPTC) has ordered Ed'H General Directorate to inform you that arrangements have been made to standardize purchase of energy contracts.

The recommendations of the Steering Committee are implemented taking into account the proposed changes mentioned in the document.

The Ministry of the TPTC sends you for signature the new contract which was proposed to you during meetings with the Commission in October 2015. At the same time, the Ministry of the Economy and Finances awaits the return of the document signed by your institution so that the new contract can, in a short time, come into force."

As for the letter addressed to the firm Sogener it is written "The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Economy and Finance invite you to a meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 10 am am at the Ministry of Economy and Finance to discuss the conditions for the withdrawal of your institution from the Varreux site.

In case you have a document from the Commission for the Modernization of Public Enterprises (CMEP) authorizing you to become owner of the three plants, please bring them."
