Haiti - Politic : ONA, Balance and perspectives 2020 04/01/2020 08:19:42
"In 2019, the ONA proved to be one of the main assets of all insured workers and all pensioners to face these challenges, united and strong. Obviously, it was deployed as a vast multifaceted project, in order to catch up with the delay observed in various sectors [...] In addition to mortgage loans, it should be mentioned : ONAFanm a microfinance program which enables "madan sara", who do not have easy access to traditional credit, to benefit from loans at an unbeatable rate of 1%. Let's rmember that in 2019, ONA also joined the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Program (PAPEJ) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29343-haiti-economy-ona-grants-prime-loans-to-young-entrepreneurs.html which helps fight unemployment among young people through entrepreneurship. It facilitates their training in financial education, the granting of credit on preferential terms, and personalized follow-up until the repayment ends. As part of this partnership, the 142 companies selected are funded at only 12% per year. Perspectives In 2020, the ONA intends to strengthen its presence among the population and proposes to extend social security coverage to workers in the formal sector who are not yet registered, and especially workers in the informal sector who are completely excluded from the system. Among the innovative projects under construction, the ONA directorate cites : " ONA-Collectivités, through which ONA wishes to affirm its commitment in favor of the access to rights and privileges of the insured to all the agents of communities, and to strengthen its policy of support for these agents as close as possible to their commune. ONA-LaPolice, voluntary insurance coverage that will allow police offciers to enjoy the same privileges as ONA policyholders. This is a possible solution for the enhancement of this body in terms of social benefits. ONA-Solidarité which will mark the integration of ONA into the National System for Risk and Disaster Management in order to guarantee a prompt and orderly post-disaster economic recovery for traders in the microcredit sector and policyholders.
