GLOBAL SITUATION :

Since the start of the pandemic 629,028 people have been cured of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 5.02%), 30,086 more than yesterday (27,091).

Since the start of the pandemic 165,273 people have died from Covid-19 worldwide (+ 2.63%), which is 4,243 more than yesterday (6,680).

12.5% increase in cases in the West Department :
The Ministry of Public Health informs that 3 new cases of Covid-19 in Haiti have been confirmed in the West Department by the National Laboratory, bringing the total to 44 active cases (+ 7.32%) or 47 cases confirmed since beginning of the epidemic (March 19, 2020) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30319-haiti-health-origin-of-the-first-2-cases-of-covid-19-in-haiti.html ( 40.4% women and 59.6% men).

Latest scientific information :
Based on the latest information from the scientific community: between 80% and 85% of those who contract Covid-19 have no symptoms, or some very mild and often mistaken for other viral infections. Between 15% and 17% of infected people would need medical assistance, whether it is a drug treatment or a short assistance linked to respiratory problems and between 3% and 5% would need a hospitalization to face the symptoms caused by coviud-19 in combination with other comorbidity factors.

Tips :
Basic advice protect yourself and avoid the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible, in case of introduction in Haiti :

Always cough or sneeze into your sleeves or elbow, never on the other person's face or in your hands;
Use tissues to wipe your hands or face and then throw them in the trash and then wash your hands;
Wash your hands frequently with soap or alcoholic water. You can also use a "sanitizer";
Avoid close contact with someone with flu-like illness and invite them to seek treatment;
Avoid contact with vulnerable people if you are sick;
Avoid greetings like handshakes and kisses;
Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth;
Avoid large gatherings as much as possible;
