On Wednesday July 7, 2021, in the special official journal Number 37, a decree was published declaring the state of siege throughout the territory of the Republic for a period of 15 days.

Text of the Order :

"Considering the assassination of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel MOÏSE, in his private residence, in Pèlerin 5, July 7, 2021, around one in the morning hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34162-haiti-flash-president-jovenel-moise-assassinated-by-mercenaries-official-updated-7am-+-video.html ;

Considering that the first elements of information indicate that this assassination was carried out by an armed body made up of foreigners;

Considering that it is urgent to apprehend the assassins of the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel MOÏSE, and to bring them before the competent courts;

Considering that for this purpose, it is necessary to declare the State of siege over the entire territory of the Republic for a period of fifteen (15) days;

Considering that in the event of the vacancy of the Presidency of the Republic either by resignation, dismissal, death or in the event of permanent physical or mental incapacity duly noted, the Council of Ministers, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, exercises the Executive Power until the election of another President https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34165-haiti-assassination-of-jovenel-moise-what-says-the-constitution.html ;

Article 2.- For the purpose of collecting all information allowing the apprehension of the assassins of the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel MOÏSE, and to bring them before the competent courts, the public force remains and remains mobilized throughout extent of the territory of the Republic, and has the following obligations:

1) carry out searches in the home of any person in order to collect all information allowing the apprehension of the assassins of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel MOÏSE;

2) prohibit all meetings that it deems likely to stir up or maintain disorder in the territory of the Republic;

3) control access to traffic lanes;

4) strengthen security arrangements;

5) establish special security measures;

6) take any generally unspecified measures allowing to arrest the assassins of the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel MOÏSE.

Article 3. - This Decree will be published and executed at the behest of the Prime Minister and all the Ministers, each as far as it is concerned.
