Haiti - Pirate radios : CONATEL takes action 10/03/2022 09:05:36
Jean Marie Guillaume, Director General of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) recalls that several broadcasting stations operate illegally on national territory, which endangers aeronautical communications and degrades the quality of service of mobile telecommunications networks.
A first list of illegal stations will be published by department with pirated frequencies and station names.
Subsequently, CONATEL will regularly publish the list by Department with frequencies, names of illegal stations and their owners.
This list will be forwarded to the Government Commissioner of the competent jurisdiction for the legal follow-up, these individuals who have violated the provisions of the criminal code, will be prosecuted.
