Floods, provisional assessment

For the past few days, Haiti has been under the influence of a tropical trough, which has caused precipitation in several departments of the country. Partial assessment of the civil protection of the municipality of Saint Marc Friday, September 2nd : 1 death, 1,625 flooded houses including 647 completely flooded. Two bridges were damaged. The areas affected by this flood are among others: Ruelle Xavier, Franck Fouche 1 and 2, Corridor Madan Saint Ard, Marc Donald, Frécynau, Cité Kébreau and Jeanton 1. This new flood in the Cité de Nissage Saget, in less than two weeks is due to the rivers which are in flood and to the absence of a pipeline project.

DR : Towards the expulsion of 2,000 Haitian detainees ?

Mario Diaz, Spokesman of the National Confederation of Transport Organizations (very influential union in the Dominican Republic) asked the Supreme Court of Justice to take a resolution ordering the transfer to Haiti of nearly 2,000 Haitian nationals who are detained in Dominicans prisons and who do not have legal immigration status, so that they are imprisoned and judged in their country.

Assassination of President Jovenel Moïse

Jacmel prison : 4 detainees starved to death

Over the past weekend, four detainees reportedly died of starvation. Since the beginning of 2022, more than ten deaths have been recorded in this prison.

Distribution of dignities kit to women

More than 300 women of childbearing age and pregnant displaced from Cité Soleil received dignity kits in the squares of Hugo Chavez, Clercine and "Kay Castor" (in Tabarre). Objective : to meet their hygiene and sexual and reproductive health needs during this crisis situation.
