Haiti - UN : «Barbecue» at the top of a blacklist, vote of the resolution pending 19/10/2022 09:09:14
However, this resolution provides for the establishment of a committee of the Security Council to designate other Haitians and groups [oligarchs, political elites, high-level corrupt politicians, American citizens and others...] who threaten the peace, security or stability of Haiti and put them on an international sanctions blacklist. Let's recall that the second resolution drafted by the United States and Mexico concerns the armed intervention force urgently requested by Haiti to support the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and put an end to gang violence and restore the order in the country. Canada also reportedly expressed similar concerns. In addition, several members of the Security Council would have privately informed the United States that they were waiting to see the details of the proposed mission before voting on this resolution... Let's remember that for a resolution to be adopted by the Security Council, it requires a vote of at least 9 votes in favor and no veto.
