Haiti - Kenya : News about the Multinational Security Support Mission
It is on January 26, 2024 that High Court Judge Chacha Mwita will determine whether the deployment of a multinational force in Haiti is contrary to the Kenyan Constitution.

Let's recall that the Supreme Court of Kenya issued a protective order temporarily preventing the Kenyan Government from deploying the country's security forces in any other country while it examined a complaint filed by opponent Ekuru Aukot, a former defeated presidential candidate and Leader of the Third Way Alliance party https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40701-haiti-politic-the-high-court-of-kenya-suspends-for-2-weeks-the-deployment-of-the-mission-in-haiti.html

Meanwhile, the Kenyan Government continues preparations for the arrival of approximately 1,000 police officers in Haiti.

According to available information, the police officers assigned to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) come from the Rapid Deployment, Anti-theft, General Services and Border Patrol Units. Kenyan police said the agents had undergone paramilitary training and trained together, to ensure they were in sync when they arrived in Haiti.

According to an article in the Nairobi daily "The Star", the police officers would be equipped for this mission with AK47 assault rifles.
