Friday, March 1st, 2024, former Colombian soldier Mario Palacios, who denied his guilt for months, until December 2023 when he pleaded guilty to conspiring with other accomplices to assassinate President Moise, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41280-haiti-assassination-of-moise-mario-antonio-palacios-pleads-guilty.html was sentenced to life imprisonment for each of the three counts which he is accused of.

The sentence was handed down in federal court in Miami, Florida, where Palacios appeared in the morning to receive his sentence. It should be noted that the accused had previously concluded an agreement with the prosecution, committing to collaborate.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Palacios was present at Moïse's home during the assassination, where he participated in the theft of money and jewelry. However, it should be noted that he played a minor role in the plot and had no decision-making power within the group.
