Haiti - Politic : The Prime Minister Garry Conille would have resigned

The Prime Minister of Haiti "would have" according to several sources, sent a letter this morning around 10am, to the President of the Republic Michel Martelly to announce him his resignation. The Prime Minister would have been pressured in the past days in order he resigns.

The President of the Lower House, the deputy Levaillant Louis Jeune has confirmed the fact that the Prime Minister wrote to the President to announce him his resignation.

It would seem that the Chief of Government was in disagreement with the President on several hot issues, such as the investigation on the nationality of members of the Executive, the publication or not the constitutional amendment and the audit of contracts signed under the government Préval-Bellerive.

Last Thursday, Dr. Garry Conille responded to a convening of the Senate Committee responsible for verifying the nationality of members of the Government, and made the deposit of his documents [passports...]

Monday, February 13, the Prime Minister gave explanations at a press conference, on what justifies the creation of an independent Commission of audit on the contracts signed under the government Préval-Bellerive and what will be its role. In October the General Policy of Garry Conille was approved in the Senate by 16 votes for, 4 against, 5 abstentions, and then to the Chamber of Deputies by 81 votes in favor, 7 abstentions, 0 against.
