Haiti - Tourism : «Carnival of Flowers», D-22 07/07/2012 12:18:10
Concerning the budget, the President explained "...there is a carnival that was done in Les Cayes, there are expenses that have been made and who have not yet been fully regulated, we can not do another Carnival without pay for this expenditure [...] Therefore, there is a part of the budget who is intended to pay for this expenditure and there will be enough money in the budget to do this 'Carnival of Flowers.' You can trust us, you do not need to worry for that..." noting that Carnival was not a carnival like other "[...] In the traditional Carnival in general [...] the meringues are broadcast on radio, the 'Carnival of Flowers' is different [...] there is not yet meringues, may be that there will be no specific meringues for this Carnival, we feel that people are not decided yet..." Regarding the costs of this event, Josette Darguste, Vice-President, wished to clarify "[...] Yes it is an investment, because there are many visitors who will come and when visitors comes, the hotels, restaurants will work, but it is an investment many people will work in this Carnival, all labor, all the artisans..." The 13 musical groups selected by the Committee of 'Carnival of Flowers' n order to participate in the carnival parade on the Champ de Mars are : Nou Krezi, Barikad Crew, Djakout #1, Kreyòl La, Carimi, Vwadèzil, Brothers Posse, Team Lòbèy and J-Perry (they will be on the same chariot)), T-Vice, Ram, T-Micky, Racine Mapou and Rockfam. For visitors from outside of Haiti, we must remember that in early JuneAir Caraïbes had launched several Packages touristic towards Haiti, following the visit in Guadeloupe of the Minister of Tourism.
