Haiti - Diaspora France: The PAFHA met the Minister Supplice
Friday, July 27, 2012 the Platform of Associations Franco-Haitian (PAFHA), its partners and friends have met Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, at the VIP Lounge of the Town Hall of Pantin. For this occasion, more than 50 people made ​​the trip.

At this meeting, the PAFHA renewed the five major demands of the community, presented during the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs, the five major demands of the community, presented during the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Laurent Lamothe Salvador on January 25, 2012, at theB ourse du Travail of St. Denis, namely :

  • The full exercise of the right of Haitians living abroad for participation in upcoming elections in 2015 by the vote of its representatives, to universal suffrage ;
  • The active participation of Haitians to Haiti's economic development, by benefiting of services of local support for investors in the diplomatic missions and in Haiti ;
  • The active participation of human resources from outside in the reconstruction of Haiti, by providing a reception service at the local level ;
  • The reduction of the waiting time for passport applicants;
  • A support service for migrant Haitians having administrative difficulties.

The PAFHA indicated that the Minister Supplice, during the meeting, made ​​no commitment concerning these five major requests for the diaspora.

Other issues were discussed by participants, as the issue of insecurity and the difficulties for entrepreneurs and associations, to get administrative documents as well as the high cost of administrative services for migrants.

The Minister has placed great emphasis on the identification of Haitians that have no administrative acts, including in Dominican Republic and the Turks and Caicos Islands, the minister also wished, a largest gathering of Haitians from abroad, according to the trades to strengthen the lobby.

The PAFHA reiterated its willingness to continue to work to ensure that requests from the Haitian community, are taken into account.
