After the failure of the Special Session of the National Assembly, October 29, postponed for lack of quorum, the members of Office of the Senate and the Executive had agreed to reconvene the parliament November 5, 2012.

For the fourth time, the special session of Parliament has been postponed "sine die", announced the Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras on the airwaves of several radio stations in the capital, which explained that it was better to postpone the special session because of the discussions initiated between the President Martelly and senators.

The Head of State invited the Senators to a meeting in the early evening at the hotel Karibe in order to find a solution to the crisis paralyzing the functioning of Parliament. An invitation to dialogue rejected once again, by some senators including the Senator Anick François Joseph.

However, several Senators have accepted the invitation to dialogue, among other the Senators : Andris Riché, Francisco Delacruz, Jean Baptiste Bien Aimé, Jean William Jeanty, Jocelerme Privert, Simon Dieuseul Desras, Steven Benoit. Note that representatives of Religion and Peace : Pastor Sylvain Exantus and Mgr. Pierre-André Dumas (Bishop of Nippes), were present at the meeting where nothing of what was said, has officially filtered.

The showdown that opposes for several weeks, some senators to the Head of State, has for origin the maintaining to the agenda, of the question concerning the appointment of 3 representatives of Legislative power of the Permanent Electoral Council. Of Senators of the opposition remaining on their position, advocating an ultimate Provisional Electoral Council of consensus in order to complete the Senate and then make a Permanent Council, a vision that do not share at all the Head of State who rely on the Constitution.
