Régine Godfrey, the new Minister of Communication, has proceeded last week to the installation of new Director General of Radio Television Nationale d'Haiti (RTNH), Mr. Emmanuel Ménard [former Director General of the National Library].

In his inaugural speech, the Minister stressed that "the state media are called to play a fundamental role in the Government's strategy, designed to inform, educate, train andraise public awareness. They are the backbone necessary to enable the State to stay in touch with all parts of the country as remote they may be," praising the work of the outgoing CEO which allowed the TNH, to cover much more space of national territory.

To the Minister, "the mission of the new Director General must be part of the continuity, in order to promote the development and modernization of state media [...]" Recalling that Mr. Emmanuel Menard had already directed in two occasions this institution during the 90s, which "will allow him easily to assume effectively its new functions. [...] And put his experience to the benefit of the RTNH."
