Haiti - Politic : Adoption of a resolution of cooperation with the CELAC

Monday, as part of 2nd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American States and Caribbean (CELAC) in Santiago, Chile, the President Michel Martelly, participated in a working session on the adoption of a resolution on cooperation between Haiti and the Community of States of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Head of State is committed to take, together with all Member States of this cooperation, all necessary measures for the realization of this collective decision, which tends to establish the framework for cooperation between the CELAC and Haiti, in the areas of environment, agriculture, energy and the fight against poverty.

"In this perspective, the resolution adopted today [Monday] by the CELAC, is of great importance, not only for my government, but also for our organization, which was able to demonstrate are steadfast and unwavering sense of solidarity between the peoples and governments of the region," declared the President Martelly "What we need in Haiti is productive investment, generating of jobs," has among other informed the Head of State in reference to his agricultural recovery plan, designed for a significant reduction of food dependency of Haiti, a plan that requires significant financial resources, noted the Head of State.
