Haiti - Tourism : Inauguration of 4-stars Best Western Premier Petion-ville
Following the opening on March 28 of the 4 star hotel Best Western Premier on Petion-ville, the President Michel Martelly, participated Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the official inauguration of this first hotel in Haiti, of the American hotel chain Best Western International.

In the presence of Vice-President and members of the Board of Directors of Best Western Premier, of Vice-President of Best Western International, members of the Government of the Republic and representatives of civil society, the Head of State recalled the benefits of public/private partnership in the development of the country. "When we get together, when the public sector combines its efforts with the private sector, the change is coming," noting that the arrival of Best Western in Petion-ville is the latest manifestation of the dynamics of this town towards the future.

Stanley Handal, one of the main representatives of Carabimmo S.A., the Project initiator group, referred to the confidence of the Administration of Best Western International, to the the management team of the new hotel and the dynamic collaboration of foreign and local partners. "One of the strengths of this Best Western in Petion-ville is its character international and local," adding that the opening of this establishment in Haiti, is a further step in the sense of the Government policy : "Haiti is open for business".

For his part, Mark Williams, Vice-President of Best Western International, said he was pleased to see the opening of this hotel in Haiti, saying that this hotel was responding to a necessity for an increasing of investments in Haiti.



The Head of State took advantage of this opportunity to congratulate the national and international investors for understanding the importance of investing in the country in the current context. "You made ​​the right choice : that to believe in the profitability of investments in Haiti. These investments are protected ! That political stability remains ! That the social peace continues to allow the creation of companies of the same type ! You now have bring your stone in the continuous construction of this city. You will leave your mark, by creating jobs, first in the construction and then in services. Therefore you contribute to the promotion of tourism, generating foreign currency and employment."



Located at the intersection of streets Louverture and Geffrard, this 7-storey hotel, of 15 million, whose work began in April 2011, is built in compliance with anti-seismic standards, propose106 international standard rooms, all decorated differently, 2 executive suites and 2 presidential suites imperial, offering panoramic views on the mountains and the city, and is equipped among other things "of a restaurant, a spa, pool, reception rooms and meeting rooms, and a conference room."

Christopher Handal, a major investor in this hotel, said that 90 Haitian are already employed by hotel managers and 20 others will be added soon. Regarding the price of the rooms he stated that the hotel will "follow the market price and try to provide the best customer service."
