Haiti - Reconstruction : Haiti-Argentina Bilateral Meeting
Tuesday, President Michel Martelly held a bilateral encounter with the Argentine Vice President, Amodo Boudou, and a tripartite meeting between Amodo Boudou and Vice-Minister of Health of Cuba, Dr. Marcia Cobas.

The presence of the Vice-President of Argentina in Haiti is part of the inauguration of the hospital de Corail (Grande Anse), which bears the name of former Argentine President Nestor Kirchnerm, died on 27 October 2010. In the afternoon, Mr. Amado Boudou, accompanied by his delegation, made ​​a floral offering at the Haitian National Pantheon Museum.

The President Cristina Fernandez of Argentina, via a video conference with Haiti, met with Amado Boudou and President Martelly, who thanked the support of Argentina and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and sent a message of gratitude to Venezuela and Cuba, which provided medical and health services at the new center, and called for further cooperation to help rebuild Haiti.



The President Fernandez declared that Argentina has made ​​a "modest contribution" with the hospital, conducted through funding from the UNASUR "Argentines tend a hand of solidarity to Haiti [...] it is necessary to give true turning point to the emergency situation that Haiti experience [...] The humble contribution but with all the heart of Argentina is now a hospital [...] but we also work in social projects and of productive development."

With the President of Argentina, the Head of State also spoke of the progress of Argentinian training program "Pro-Huerta" with which "We fight against hunger in many areas." Cristina Fernandez recalled, that in collaboration with a network of 823 local organizations, it has already been built 14,719 gardens that benefit more than 100,000 beneficiaries in seven of the 10 departments of Haiti.
