"[...] Dear Directors of decentralized and autonomous bodies who are the pillars of the Ministry of Culture,

Allow me to tell you how I feel lucky to be able to assume this function today to which I am called, with a team strong and determined to produce concrete results; a team ready to make any sacrifice to bring Haitian culture to heights never before achieved both in the arts in general and the rights of creators that in the research, preservation, development and presentation of our tangible and intangible heritage.

Throughout this past year, we have learned to know us, to assess our weaknesses and our strengths together to support each other during a difficult year indeed, but marked by successes, opportunities opening up new opportunities and promising big dreams.

Even further we will have to stick together because, more than ever, much is required of us. This year 2014 should be decisive for the Haitian culture. It will be hard, it will ask us even more than we were willing to give. I can promise you only work, work, and more work. The hours will be even longer, the debate more than ever tighter, the highest pressure. But I know, like you, the experience will be exhilarating.

Dear colleagues of ISPAN,

I want to thank you from the heart not only to warmly welcomed me to my position of General Director of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage, but also and especially to have I want to thank you from the heart not only to warmly welcomed me to my position of General Director of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage, but also and especially valiantly stepped me in achieving so many worthwhile projects all over the past year despite the many pitfalls and obstacles that our way was staked. Thank you for trusting me and agreeing with a smile to suffer my moments of impatience and frustration as excessively long working days. Your unfailing collaboration has been instrumental in the success of the recent course of ISPAN.

From Sainte Suzanne to Milot, of Mattheux to Fort Jacques, from the Jacmel center to that of Cap Haitien, from île à Vacheto the Historic Cities of the Artibonite, extraordinary relationships with communities of young and less young are woven around the heritage and the reappropriation of witnesses of our history. Wherever we went, the more open collaboration and most successful enabled with the help of municipal and local officials, to land great projects. We have brilliantly shown what can be achieved when the son and daughters of a nation looking together in the same direction.

Starting today, I am committed to continue on a larger scale these multiple and varied dreams that we all cherish. We have work to do and I already know that I can rely on each of you !"
