Haiti - Elections : Ultimate reprieve for the Senators 07/06/2014 14:25:14
Recall that Senator Riché proposed a change of 2 members in the Provisional Electoral Council (a representative of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) and a representative of the Parliament, well as the maintenance of Léopold Berlanger (CSPJ) and Me Néhémy Joseph (Senate) in the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). Should be noted for our readers, that the proposal of Senator Riché is entirely consistent with the agreement El Rancho, which stipulates in its Article 7, since 14 March 2014 (date of signature of the Agreement) : "Institutional framework : The Parties agree that the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) be renamed the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). Each of the three branches of government, namely the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary may, after evaluation proceed to the withdrawal of one of its members and provide a replacement within a period not exceeding ten (10) days after the signing of this Agreement.
