In a few days, the Franco-Haitian, Jean-Pierre Roy, aka "Rasta Piquet" [in reference to "Rasta Rockets' of the Jamaican bobsled team] will be in the starting gate for his 3rd World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, USA, to defend his 64th world ranking in Slalom, behind Marcel Hirscher, Félix Neureuther and some other.

With 700 athletes from 70 nations including Haiti, the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, is the largest gathering of racers in the world, just behind the Olympics, with a global audience estimated at nearly a billion viewers. The competition will begin Tuesday, February 3 and will run for 13 days and two weekend until 15 February.

This is incredible! At 52, Jean-Pierre, born in Port-au-Prince, founder of the Haitian Ski Federation (Fall 2010), will never stop! Once again, he resumed his courage and the Haitian torch, motivated by the universal values of sport in general, respect, fighting spirit and dream. Jean Pierre will not abandon pending succession of Haitian youth, what will happen in 2018.

Its action is even more important currently, to show for some days, that Haiti is now dynamic and at the international level alongside other nations. This presence is once again the opportunity to show a positive image of Haiti and show young Haitians, we can realize a project, even a little crazy, despite the difficulties.
