Fanmi Lavalas reiterated its support for the proposal to create a Verification Commission of Election of October 25, and said it is ready to pull the country of the electoral impasse... 5 parliamentarians from countries of the Americas, stay in Haiti

As part of the Election Observation Mission deployed since September 2015 ParlAmericas (MiOÉH) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15986-haiti-elections-electoral-observation-mission-of-the-parlamericas.html 5 parliamentarians from countries of the Americas, stay in Haiti from 8 to 11 December to meet with politicians and representatives of civil society.

The main objective of the delegation is to strengthen the links between the mission and the stakeholders of democracy in Haiti. The delegation will meet parliamentarians from various political stripes elected in August and October, and representatives of civil society organizations. The delegation will establish a dialogue on electoral practices recognized in the hemisphere, the

political cooperation for the promotion of legislative priorities in a democratic environment, and on building strategies to improve women's participation in electoral processes, political parties and civil society.

In addition to these meetings, the delegation will participate in two panel discussions on the challenges of gender in political parties and organizations of civil society.

  • Carmen Omonte, Congressman of the Republic of Peru ;

  • Luis Alberto Batres. Member of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador.

Monday, Mosler Georges, Executive Director of CEP, said "Everything is ready for the holding of the second round of presidential and local elections [27 December 2015] to elect representatives for 570 communal sections, delegates for 140 cities and the resumption of the vote in 23 constituencies of the country. To do this, we will continue with the training of temporary staff to improve the process," he also informed that the models for ballots of local authorities will soon be verified.
