Haiti - FLASH : Earthquake in the Center 22/11/2019 14:53:22
This Friday, November 22, 2019, an earthquake of magnitude 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded at 1h11 and 40 seconds of the afternoon, in the Center department 25 km South-East of Hinche, 49km North-East of Croix-des-Bouquets, 60 km North-East of Port-au-Prince, with an epicenter at a depth of 15km.
For the moment the Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) has not issued its report, and the regional office of the Directorate of Civil Protection has reported no damage.
Recall that Haiti is located in the middle of a vast system of geological faults resulting from the movement of the tectonic plates of the Caribbean and North America, which explains the frequent earthquakes in the country.
