GLOBAL SITUATION :

Since the start of the epidemic 142,100 people have been cured of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 7.77%), 10,146 more than yesterday.

The number of people infected worldwide (active cases) is currently 496,348 (+ 12.16%), 53,829 more than yesterday.

Since the start of the epidemic, 30,864 people have died of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 10.67%), 2.975 more than yesterday.

HAITI :
15 confirmed cases in the country (+ 87.5%) :
Saturday 7 new cases (+ 87.5%) were confirmed in the assessment of the Ministry of Public Health which is added to the 8 confirmed cases of March 25th. The new assessment therefore now stands at 15 confirmed cases in Haiti. Haiti purchases $18.6 million worth of medical equipment :
On the recommendations of the scientific unit https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30384-haiti-politic-creation-of-a-scientific-cell-to-manage-the-covid-19-crisis.html , the Government urgently ordered the Chinese firm "Bowang Xu Xiao" for 18.6 million dollars of hospital equipment for the response plan of the Ministry of Health in the fight against Covid-19...

This first order notably includes: 2.5 million medical gloves, 300,000 sterilized gowns, 10 automatic biochemistry analyzers, 100 respirators and accessories, 1,500 hospital beds, 500 infusion pump units, 200,000 KN 95 masks, 1.5 million disposable surgical masks, 250,000 personal protective equipment (glasses, visors and shoes). These materials should arrive in Haiti by plane around April 10.

Use of Cloroquine in Haiti :
President Jovenel Moïse said he was waiting for the recommendations of the Minister of Public Health Marie Greta Roy Clément, to authorize the use of Chloroquine in the treatment of Coronavirus in Haiti. Note that Haiti has two laboratories that manufacture this drug.

Certain specialized factories authorized to reopen :
he Association of Industries of Haiti announced that Prime Minister Joseph Joithe had authorized the reopening of certain factories in the country manufacturing medical equipment for export, which will also be able to contribute to the fight against Covid-19 in Haiti. The factories concerned have been inspected by the Ministry of Health to verify that the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) are applied to ensure the safety of workers. The companies concerned for the moment are: Quantum, H4H operated by the Koreans, Haiti Premier Apparel by Charles Baker, Cleveland, InterAmerican Woven of the Apaid group, Superior Sourcing and Quality Sewing.

New York City: 30,093 active cases (+ 14.65%) or 3,846 more than yesterday and 672 deaths (+ 49.3%) or 222 more than yesterday.

Miami Dade (FL): 867 active cases (+ 28.9%), 251 more than yesterday.

Friday, New York State, epicenter of the pandemic in the United States, reported 52,318 confirmed cases (+ 17.2%) compared to the previous day, or 43% of all confirmed cases on American soil and 728 death (+ 40.2%),

Saturday March 28 "The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is asking residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to avoid non-essential travel [to the country] for the next 14 days with immediate effect."

Trump renounces quarantining New York :
President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he would not quarantine the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut after speaking about the possibility that day.

QUEBEC :
Epidemiological situation:
In Quebec 2,498 confirmed cases (+ 23.6%) or 477 cases more than yesterday and 18 deaths (+ 22.2%) or 10 more than yesterday. In Montreal, the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic in Quebec, 1,219 cases are confirmed (+ 25.54%) or 248 cases more than yesterday (48.8% of all cases in the Province). 164 people are hospitalized, including 57 in intensive care. Montreal and Estrie (253 cases) are the two main centers of the epidemic in Quebec.

8 regions with limited access :
In order to protect 8 vulnerable regions, the Québec government has decided to limit access to the Bas Saint-Laurent, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Côte-Nord, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Gaspésie and Îles-de -la-Madeleine, in northern Quebec, in Nunavik and in the James Bay Cree territory. Only travel deemed essential will be allowed, all others will be turned back at roadblocks.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC:
Epidemiological situation :
Saturday in his daily report, the Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, reported that the number of confirmed cases since the start of the epidemic amounted to 719 (+ 23.75%) or 138 cases more than yesterday. 28 people died (+ 40%), 8 more than yesterday. 13 of the 28 deaths come from the Province of Duarte (46.4%).

Of the 719 confirmed cases, 581 who suffer from mild symptoms are in home isolation (+ 19.0%) compared to yesterday, i.e. 144 people and 121 people (+ 28.7%), or 27 more than yesterday, have been in hospital isolation.

FRANCE :
Epidemiological situation :
Saturday March 28, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health since the start of the epidemic on French territory, 37,575 cases were confirmed, 17,620 patients were hospitalized, 4,273 in intensive care, 6,624 cured and 2,317 deceased.

Tips :
Basic advice protect yourself and avoid the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible, in case of introduction in Haiti :

Always cough or sneeze into your sleeves or elbow, never on the other person's face or in your hands;
