GLOBAL SITUATION :
Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the number of people infected worldwide with the Covid-19 coronavirus since the start of the pandemic (Official source), stands at 2,573,143 confirmed (+ 3.22%), or 80,180 new cases more than the day before (81,410). Since the start of the pandemic, 692,333 people have been cured of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 5.54%), 36.323 more than yesterday (26.982).

1 new case, 2 cures and a 4th death :
The Ministry of Public Health informs that 1 new case of Covid-19 in Haiti has been confirmed in the West Department (Croix-des-Bouquets) bringing the total to 58 cases since the start of the epidemic (March 19 2020) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30319-haiti-health-origin-of-the-first-2-cases-of-covid-19-in-haiti.html

NEWS: February 6, 2020 date of the first death in the USA, caused by the Covid-19
The Santa Clara County medical examiner said that autopsies by the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) determined that the first two victims of Covid-19 on American soil died at their home in California respectively on February 6 and 17, 2020. Before this information, it was considered that the first victim of Covid-19 died on February 26, in Washington State.

NEWS world: WFP fears humanitarian catastrophe after the pandemic
The World Food Program (WFP), a UN agency, fears that due to the considerable economic impact of Covid-19 on the world economy, the number of people threatened by famine will double in the world and that after the pandemic the world is likely to find itself faced with a "humanitarian catastrophe".

Latest scientific information :
Based on the latest information from the scientific community: between 80% and 85% of those who contract Covid-19 have no symptoms, or some very mild and often mistaken for other viral infections. Between 15% and 17% of infected people would need medical assistance, whether it is a drug treatment or a short assistance linked to respiratory problems and between 3% and 5% would need a hospitalization to face the symptoms caused by coviud-19 in combination with other comorbidity factors.

SYMPTOMS :
Common symptoms of Covid-19 coronavirus: cough, fever and extreme fatigue. Some people may also have more severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing or pneumonia. On average, symptoms of COVID-19 usually develop 5 to 7 days after infection. In some infrequent cases, they may appear only on the 12th day.

Tips :
Basic advice protect yourself and avoid the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible, in case of introduction in Haiti :

Always cough or sneeze into your sleeves or elbow, never on the other person's face or in your hands;
Use tissues to wipe your hands or face and then throw them in the trash and then wash your hands;

Avoid close contact with someone with flu-like illness and invite them to seek treatment;
