On July 10, Maguy Durce, the Secretary of State for Training met with Ms. Monica Del Sarto, Project Manager for the "Qualification System and Access to Work" project (SQUAT) funded by the Embassy of Switzerland, with a view to define their collaboration within the framework of the implementation of the Law on the Validation of Acquisitions and Professional Experience (VAEP) promulgated on February 25, 2019 in the Official Journal Le Moniteur on February 25, 2019 (number 174, special #6), voted in the Chamber of Deputies in April 2017 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20575-haiti-news-zapping.html and in April 2018 by the Senate https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24001-haiti-politic-two-important-bills-passed-in-the-senate.html

With this Law, (in the draft state since 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11571-haiti-politic-toward-the-validation-of-professional-experience-in-haiti.html ) the experiences acquired by thousands of young people and adults, on the job will be recognized by the Ministry of National Education which will give access to the professional qualification established according to the standards and norms of the market on the one hand and will facilitate labor mobility thanks to the transferability of learning on the other.

It is therefore a law to the advantage of workers in Haiti who will see their skills acquired on the job, for several years, classified and recognized by a formal body of National Education and vocational training.

The Minister of Education Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet will soon launch the VAEP Steering Committee, which is chaired by the Secretary of State for Training, Dr. Maguy DURCE, who is entrusted with the implementation. He invites the actors of Education and Vocational Training as well as, technical and financial partners to embrace with the Ministry this major project which will enhance both the beneficiaries of the Haitian economy.
