Haiti - FLASH : 39 Haitians banned from entering the Dominican Republic (list)
Following the sanctions Canada and the United States the Dominican President Luis Abinader transmitted Friday, April 14, 2023 to Venancio Alcántara Valdez, Director General of Immigration a list of 39 Haitians from the political sectors, finance, as well as gang leaders, with presidential instruction not to admit to the national territory these foreigners who are a threat to the interests and institutions of the Republic."

"In view of the fact that article 128, number 1, literal 1, of the Dominican Constitution, empowering the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Head of State, to prohibit, when it suits the public interest, the entry of foreigners into the national territory; and that because of this, Law no. 285-04, General of Migrations, and its Implementing Regulations, provided for by Decree no. 631-11, make it possible to prevent the entry into the national territory of foreigners with a criminal record or who, in the opinion of the competent authorities, constitute any threat against national security and the interests of the Republic.

By virtue of the foregoing and on the recommendation of the corresponding defense and security organizations, I, Luis Abinader, Constitutional President of the Dominican Republic, in accordance with the powers granted to me by number 1, literal b, of article 128 of the Constitution of the Republic, I give the following instruction:
