Haiti - Environment : ISAAC, the situation at 8 pm 24/08/2012 20:46:22

It moves slowly at 17km/h towards north-east, Maximum winds are now of 100km/h with gusts well above, and the area of influence is of 295km around its center. The center of ISAAC should landfall tonight. At 5:00 pm ISAAC is now located at 17.2N 71.9W off the coast of Haiti, or 50 km southeast of Port-au-Prince, 130km of Jacmel, 167km of Petit-Goâve, 222km of Les Cayes and 271km of Jérémie. It moves at 26km/h. The rain started to fall in different regions of the South, and there are wind gusts. Since 11 hours in the morning ISAAC pursuing a path north-west towards Haiti. At 2:00 pm ISAAC continues its progress towards Haiti, it is currently located at 16.8N 71.4W, or 211km south southeast of Port-au-Prince, 195km of Jacmel, 291km of Les Cayes, 350km of Jérémie ISAAC which is still at the level of storm is moving at a speed of 22km/h towards the north-west, if there is no change in its trajectory the center of ISAAC will pass on Haiti later in the day, but given the size of the mass, the first effects will be felt shortly in the southern regions.
