Haiti - Elections : CEP, a mysterious MoU, to be approved... 01/12/2012 13:22:25
Tuesday, the Senators Jocelerme Privert and William Jeanty and the Deputies Dupner Clément and Guerda Benjamin, members of the Commission bicameral of the legislative branch (created to follow up the discussions on the establishment of Electoral Council), which met for the second time, met with representatives of the Executive Branch : the President Michel Martelly, Gregory Mayard Paul, Emmanuel Menard, Ralph Théano, and former Senators Youri Latortue and Joseph Lambert, under the benevolence of mediators of "Religion of Peace", Mgr. Pierre André Dumas and Pastor Sylvain Exantus. Representatives of the two powers, have agreed to reflect on a proposal of MOU, that they agreed to submit to their respective groups. Participants agreed not to reveal to the public the contents of this proposed agreement. Mgr. Pierre-André Dumas declared "we found that there are many advanced that have been made, and we arrived to a proposal of Memorandum of Understanding, which includes the acquired of both parties on which they agreed. Now, they must submit it to each of their respective groups. It was after that, that we will be able to say if this agreement will become a definitive agreement. At present, we believe that to help ensure the viability of the proposed agreement, it is not appropriate for us to make statements about what it contains. The only thing we can say is that we found that had a lot of availability, lot of openness and a lot of ability to be able to reach an agreement on issues that could divide these two Powers.
