Haiti - Elections : President Martelly met with members of CTCEP
On Friday, President Michel Martelly, met at the National Palace, 7 of the 9 members of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) around the electoral process.

The meeting, which took place took place in a cordial atmosphere, was an opportunity for the Head of State and electoral advisors to provide an update on the progress of the electoral process, more than three months after the establishment of CTCEP.

The President stressed the need to hold elections at the end of 2013 to ensure political stability, prevent malfunction of republican institutions and maintain at the head of state elected legitimate. He also stated that the draft law submitted to the Executive will be submitted to Parliament after its review and appropriation by the Council of Ministers.

In addition, the Head of State stressed the obligation of sharing responsibilities between CTCEP and the Directorate General.

President Martelly has finally expressed the willingness of his administration to definitely break with the recurring cycle of post-election crisis, stressing his efforts to establish procedures, mechanisms and practices that ensure fair election.
