After having denied the existence on July 14, the existence of a supposed meeting to his Cabinet with the President Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9020-haiti-politic-denial-of-me-louis-gary-lissade.html Me Louis Gary Lissade, after reviewing the report of the Senate Committee of inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Judge Jean Serge Joseph, vehemently denounces the conclusions of this report, that he describes as maneuver aimed at sully his honor.

"I, the undersigned, Me Louis Gary Lissade, lawyer of the Bar of Port-au-Prince, former Dean of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, former Minister of Justice, recently named Lawyer of the Year by SOS Freedoms, protests vehemently against the conclusions of the report issued by the Senate Committee, which recommends not only the impeachment of the Head of State, Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, but also lawsuits against my person.

I am particularly shocked to find that from inconsistent stories and rumors baseless and without proof, a committee of Senators of the Republic having sworn allegiance to the Constitution, could lead to conclusions as scandalous that absurd. Also, I deplores the fact that the commission members have chosen to remove the basic principles of law and equity in the development of a document of such importance that clearly exudes a strong subjectivity.

I would like hereby launch a warning against those who attempt to sully my reputation acquired at a price of nearly forty years of hard work with a impeccable and prestigious courses in the field of law. I categorically reject these allegations that are only the fruit of the imagination of some pernicious individuals wanting gain some political advantage and reiterates the statements contained in the press note of 14 July.

Note that the report of the Special Commission of Inquiry does not really exist at the parliamentary level as it will not be ratified by the Senate, what has not been possible until now because of the divisions that oppose and divide the senators.
