Wednesday the President Michel Martelly, received at the National Palace, 11 officer-engineers and 30 Haitian soldier-technicians, graduate of chools of Ecuador "Eloy Alfaro" and "los del Vencedores del CENEPA".

This encounter, that was intended to be a ceremony of homage to these 41 young Haitians, who come to spend ten months in military training in Ecuador, was held in the presence of the Ambassador of Ecuador in Haiti, Carlos Lopez Damm, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and of the Cabinet of President of the Republic, representatives of the PNH and the parents of these officers and soldiers.

These young people are the result of the electoral promise of President Martelly to remobilize the Armed Forces of Haiti, as a national defense force, primarily assigned to the surveillance of our borders, the fight against smuggling and trafficking, environmental awareness, emergency preparedness, etc...

"By welcoming you today as officer-engineers and soldier-technicians, it comes to me the exhilarating feeling to resurrect the body of the Haitian military engineering, to lay the first stone of a pantheon where Haitian youth, will come periodically recharge and draw lessons of discipline and dedication, the cult of civic service and sacrifice of the immortal Fatherland," declared president Martelly.

The Head of State took the opportunity to express the appreciation of the Haitian people and of his Administration to the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, who has agreed to welcome these young people by giving them the benefits of a solid education in military engineering.
