Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti and members of the international community in Haiti represented within the Core Group (the ambassadors of Brazil, Spain, of the United States, France and the European Union, the Chargé d'Affaires ai of Canada, and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States (OAS)), welcomed the signing of the "El Rancho" agreement under the mediation of the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH), presided by Cardinal Chibly Langlois.

The representatives of the international community in Haiti, believe that this agreement is a first step towards a national consensus working to strengthen democratic institutions and good governance and encourage all Haitian political actors to take the necessary steps that will lead to the holding in 2014 of free, fair and inclusive elections.
