Haiti - Sports : Inauguration of the new sports complex of Bayas
On Thursday, the President Michel Martelly, in the presence of Minister of Sports, of the Mayor of the town, Mr. Max Millien, parliamentarians and the Departmental Delegate of Centre, proceeded to the inauguration of the Sports Complex of Bayas, in Mirebalais.

Designed to accommodate athletes of several sports, this sports complex of Bayas includes a football field (90 mx 45 m) with a synthetic surface that meets the international standard, a basketball court and a mixed terrain volleyball, tennis and handball. 4 stands, 2 of 60 m long and 36 m wide, lateral to the football field were built to accommodate approximately 3,000 spectators. The new center is equipped with locker rooms, office space, a tank 15,000 gallons of lamps for lighting of the center and over 1,000 square meters of landscaped lawn...

Construction of the new Sports Park, will allow clubs of Mirebalais and Lower Plateau to receive their Haitian and foreign opponents on land that meets international standards. These new sports facilities offer, in addition to the youth of the region the opportunity to recreate healthy and pratice sporting activities in the best conditions.

The inauguration of the new sports complex, bringing the number already built across the country since the accession to power of President Martelly to 10. In addition, 10 other parks and sports centers have been rehabilitated or are being rehabilitated in various departments and communes.

In his speech, the Head of State invited the private sector to become more involved in sport for the recovery of the sector.
