As part of the cooperation agreement signed between the governments of Mexico and Haiti, November 27, 2012 for the grant over 3 years by Mexico of 300 scholarships of excellence https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7269-haiti-education-mexico-grants-300-scholarships.html , Mexico announces 104 new scholarships for higher education in Universities and Mexican Technological Institutes in Civil Engineering, Engineering of Mines, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering networks and telecommunications, multimedia and e-commerce Engineering and Engineering of renewable energy.

Recall that already 197 scholars Haitian students [Promotions 2013 and 2014] already pursuing in Mexico, in more than 40 universities and technical institutes, 4 years of studies. These 104 new scholarships are the 3rd and final Promotion [2015] of the program.

This scholarship program is open to young people aged 18 to 25 and the deadline for the submission of applications is March 30, 2015, without any possibility of extension. Applications must be submitted to the Cultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs (MAEC) between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.

José Luis Alvarado, Ambassador of Mexico Haiti, said that in addition to academic excellence, gender equity and equal representation of the 10 departments of Haiti are among the priorities, adding that "All interested must undergo a selection examination, prepared and evaluated in Mexico by the National Assessment Centre for Higher Education of Mexico. Candidates will undergo this exam in French and will be evaluated under the international evaluation system including, among others, general culture, geography, etc..."

The students who will be selected, apart from the insurance of the university studies will receive training in Spanish of 6 months and will receive financial support throughout the period of training in Mexico. The new scholars will join their colleagues in Mexico during the summer.

Chancellor Duly Brutus pointed out, that the laureates at baccalaureate exams of this year will have the priority and said the Haitian government had no power to influence the decisions of Mexico in regard to the final selection of beneficiaries.
