The Government that I lead continues to work day after day to restore hope in the departments affected by this earthquake which destroyed lives, property and many infrastructures.

I take this opportunity to remind everyone that my Government is sparing neither efforts nor sacrifices to continue to support the victims of this disaster. We are delighted with the results already achieved by the main players in the field, in their respective fields of action.

On the occasion of this first anniversary, I invite all our compatriots to reflect on this day which brings tortuous and macabre memories to our memory.

Faced with this pain and this ordeal which are still upsetting the daily lives of our sisters and brothers on the Southern Peninsula, we encourage everyone to reflect, to solidarity by continuing to show this same momentum to live together as the day after the disaster.

On this sadly memorable August 14, I renew my feelings of solidarity with the valiant population of the great South, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the terrible earthquake that devastated this region.

These integrated actions are implemented with the support of our international partners. We have also developed the Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for the Great South, in accordance with urbanization and land use planning standards consistent with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals."
