Antigua and Barbuda confirmed on September 26, 2023 its intention to deploy soldiers from the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF) to support the efforts of the multinational intervention mission (pending authorization of the UN Security Council), aimed at restoring peace and stability in Haiti.

Currently, 12 countries have confirmed their participation in the multinational mission in Haiti : Kenya, Bahamas, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Italy, Spain , Mongolia, Senegal, Belize, Suriname, Guatemala and Peru.

Let's remember that Kenya is preparing to send 1,000 men in this mission to support the Haitian National Police (PNH) against armed gangs and restore security in Haiti.

Although there is a firm commitment from Antigua and Barbuda, the Prime Minister's Office said "there was no determination at this point on how many members of the [ABDF] will be dispatched to Haiti". However, the Office of the PM indicated that Prime Minister Gaston Browne is committed to finding a solution to the problems facing Haiti.
