Monday March 11, 2024, the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince seemed "calm", but new threats were launched during a press conference by Jimmy Cherizier, alias "Barbecue" leader of the alliance of armed gangs "Viv Ansanm” (G9 + GPèp coalitions).

He rejected the negotiations of the international community to find a solution to the serious political crisis that Haiti is going through specifying that his coalition was "launching a battle to free Haiti from the clutches of traditional politicians and corrupt oligarchs..."

According to "Barbecue", if the international community continues on this path, it will plunge Haiti into chaos, by leading a small group of traditional politicians to elect a President and a model of Government for the country.

"Today, it is clear that it is the people of working-class neighborhoods and the Haitian people in general who know what they are going through. These are the same people who must take their destiny into their own hands to choose their leaders [...] It is the 'Viv Ansanm' alliance with the Haitian people, who will elect the one who will lead the country...

Furthermore, "Barbecue" issued a warning to the Multinational Mission to Support the National Police of Haiti "[...] No one can scare us, make us believe that we are going to be hunted in our own country. We are the children of Dessalines. When our ancestors fought for our independence, they called us terrorists, like today [...] We did not come here to lie to the people [...] We are not making a peaceful revolution. We are making a bloody revolutionin the country."

Finally he addressed the country's hotel establishments to warn them and threaten them : "To all the hoteliers who host traditional politicians, we are going to come little by little, whether they are Montana, Karibe whatever the hotel that hiding traditional politicians inside their hotel we will make sure to resolve this problem by any means [...] Woe to all hotels which hides a politician who collaborated with Ariel Henry"
