Haiti - Politic : New bilateral meeting of the High Level Commission ?
According to the Minister of the Dominican Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, a new meeting of the bilateral High Level Commission, between Haiti and the Dominican party will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic "We are pleased to once again receive the Haitian delegation for the new dialogue session, which we hope will allow us to move forward on the common agenda," declared Minister Montalvo.

At this meeting, which will be led by Gustavo Montalvo for the Dominican Commission and the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, for Haitian Commission, it is expected to monitor progress on existing agreements and on the bilateral ministerial meetings in the areas of trade, health, migration, agriculture, security and the environment. It will also discuss the possibility of including new topics in the agenda.

"The Haitian and Dominican people are very different in many ways, but both want more jobs, more security, more health and more opportunity. It is on this basis that we continue to look for solutions to achieve agreements," declared Gustavo Montalvo.

Recall that the first meeting of the High Level Bilateral Commission between the two countries was held on January 7 in Haiti to Ouanaminthe and the second on February 3 in the Dominican Republic Jimani. Thereafter, for reasons specific to each country, meetings were postponed repeatedly. Nevertheless, the dialogue between the two countries between between these summits has never stopped, which allowed to continue to move things forward. Moreover, a ministerial meeting was held on May 8 in Santo Domingo and Port-au-Prince where agreements were signed in the areas of health and tourism.

At the end of the meeting and discussions, Haitian and Dominican authorities will sign a joint declaration of commitments between the two governments.
