Haiti - FLASH : 7 of the Colombians arrested, had received American military training
On Thursday, July 22, the Pentagon recognized that 7 of the 18 former Colombian soldiers arrested in Haiti in connection with the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse on July 7, had received US military training, said the retired rear admiral in the United States Navy John Kirby, chief spokesperson for the Pentagon.

"Thus far, we’ve identified seven individuals who were former members of the Colombian military that had received some sort of... U.S. funded and provided education and training [...] under either Defense Department or State Department funding and authorities"

"Education and training included cadet leadership development, counterdrug operations, noncommissioned officer professional development, or training in small unit leadership, human rights, emergency medical care and helicopter maintenance," Kirby added stressing that all these formations were "very common" and that nothing "leading to or encouraging of what happened in Haiti."

Note that US military training of South American forces is common, with Colombia having been known as a close partner to the US military for decades. Colombia receives US funding and other aid to fight drug trafficking and guerrilla movements.

Former Colombian soldiers trained by the United States, are highly sought after by private security companies to participate, among other things, as mercenaries in conflict zones around the world due to their experience in combat against the guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the powerful drug cartels, but also for executions for money...

Haiti - FLASH : Follow-up of investigations into the assassination of President Moïse (Video)
On Tuesday, Léon Charles the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) followed up on the ongoing investigations into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse on July 7, 2021.

He revealed that 3 foreign nationals living in the United States had participated in the financing of the assassination of President Moïse asking "[...] the FBI and other entities that collaborate with us to help us trace those concerned. It took a lot of money to carry out this operation, infiltrate the police, recruit these attackers, make them travel, house them, etc... We are in the process of exploiting the material that we have seized in order to go back to intellectual authors."

He revealed that as part of the investigation, 3 new arrests were made "These are police officers Boni Grégoire, Clifton Hyppolite and Dominique Cauvin. The latter attended all the planning meetings for the assassination of the President of the Republic. These meetings were organized at Reynaldo Corvington which we have already arrested.

The police chief said that in addition to the new arrests, 7 officers, including those with the President's security details, had already been placed in solitary confinement, although they were not officially considered suspects [...]" adding that 26 suspects have been arrested "18 Colombians, 5 Haitians and 3 Haitian-Americans" and 45 hearings have been carried out so far.
