The Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) has taken note of the various sanctions applied by Canada and other Nations for several months.

While acknowledging concerted national and international efforts to uphold "moral authority" and "hold accountable" law breakers in the Republic of Haiti, including the international sanctioning of individuals, ADIH believes that the principles universal principles of "rule of law" and "just and fair trial" must apply.

Sanctions, which negatively impact an individual's reputation and integrity, and therefore impact investments and the economy as a whole, must be the result of a transparent process.

We therefore urge all nations to promote due process to ensure that any sanction action is the result of a transparent and fair process prior to enforcement!
