The Collective of Lawyers Specializing in Strategic Human Rights Litigation (CALSDH), Kay Fanm, Kri Fanm Ayiti (KRIFA), Solidarity of Haitian Women (SOFA), Toya Foundation and the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), in their capacity as human rights defense organizations, welcome the decision of the Court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince to maintain in all its form and content the Avant-dire law decision rendered dated 10 July 2023 following the non-appearance of Yves Jean-Bart alias “Dadou”.
These organizations recall in a press release dated October 24, 2023, that as part of this case, they requested a new objective and impartial judicial investigation. They consider in fact that the investigation, conducted only in defense by the magistrate Emilio Accimé of the Croix-des-Bouquets Jurisdiction, was botched and did not allow all light to be shed on the serious allegations of rape and sexual bargaining. , forced abortions and debauchery, accused of Yves Jean-Bart and perpetrated against minors placed under his authority at the “Camp Nou” Academy
The signatory organizations once again emphasize that it is the duty of Haitian Justice to collaborate with all national and international institutions capable of providing any assistance in the quest for information and identification of victims, in particular victims A and B who testified before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) of Switzerland and to take all measures to ensure the protection of witnesses, victims and any person who can provide relevant information with a view to the successful conclusion of the investigation.
These organizations reaffirm their determination to support Haitian criminal justice in this emblematic case so that justice is rendered to victims of abuse and sexual violence in the sporting environment in Haiti.
