Two of the members of this commando were later killed by the Haitian police in a clash, the other two, including Palacio, had managed to escape.

General Jorge Luis Vargas Valencia, Director General of the Colombian National Police declared "What must follow is the extradition process to Haiti, we are ready to collaborate with the authorities of Haiti and Jamaica".

Jairo Clopatofsky, Colombia’s Ambassador to Jamaica, told CNN "[...] the suspect's fingerprints will be checked to confirm that it is Palacios, but everything seems to indicate that it is him."
