Haiti - Justice : 6 months after the assassination of President Moïse, the judicial police report blockages

The National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) notes in a very detailed report that 6 months after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, there is "no further investigation by the judicial police, no judicial investigation" and state of a series of blockages in the investigation carried out by the judicial police.

In addition, in September 2021, the investigators who had worked on the investigation were summoned by the Inspectorate General of the PNH who asked them specific questions relating to their work, with the obvious aim of intimidating them. These behaviors were in fact blocking acts.
The judicial police investigation never extended to banking institutions. However, it remains a fact that transactions were carried out and that at least two Haitian banking institutions were used for the transfer and circulation of very large amounts from the United States to Haiti. The information was confirmed by the FBI. However, the DCPJ never authorized its investigators to investigate this aspect of the investigation, which would have helped identify those who paid for the crime.
Today, the DCPJ is not conducting any further investigation and no final report relating to the assassination of Jovenel MOÏSE is being prepared.
The RNDDH report deplores the inexistence of a judicial investigation.
